Terms of Service

1. Agreement to these terms

By accessing or using Renting My Ride, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. About the marketplace

Renting My Ride is a Houston car rental marketplace that connects renters with independent local hosts. Each rental is a direct agreement between the renter and the host; we facilitate discovery, booking, payment, and support.

3. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid driver license, and provide accurate information. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.

4. Bookings & payments

Prices shown are all-inclusive of taxes and mandatory fees. Payment timing, reservation deposits, and refunds are governed by our Cancellation Policy. Service fees are non-refundable.

5. Use of the vehicle

When you rent a vehicle, you agree that:

• The vehicle is used only for lawful purposes and in line with all traffic laws
• Only the registered renter or approved additional drivers operate the vehicle
• The vehicle is not used for racing, off-road driving, towing, or any illegal activity
• The legal passenger capacity is never exceeded
• Smoking is prohibited — a $350 cleaning fee applies; pets require prior written consent
• The vehicle is returned with a full tank; otherwise a $35 service fee plus fuel cost applies
• Rentals include 200 miles per day; additional miles are $2.00 per mile

6. Insurance & liability

Renters must carry valid automobile liability insurance for the rental period; hosts provide no coverage. The renter is responsible for damage, loss, theft, or vandalism during the rental, except where covered by an optional protection package. 7. Security deposit

A refundable $200 security deposit is authorized before pickup and released within 3 business days of return, less any applicable deductions.

8. Late returns

Late returns are charged at the daily rate, pro-rated by the hour. A vehicle not returned within 24 hours of the agreed time, without prior notice, may be reported stolen.

9. Tolls, fines & violations

You are solely responsible for all tolls, parking fees, fines, and violations during your rental. Charges billed to a host are passed on to you at cost.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the host and Renting My Ride from all claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of a vehicle or breach of these terms.

11. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Renting My Ride is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

12. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration or in the courts of Harris County, Texas.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted with a new effective date, and continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance.
